If you have a fitness business or plan to start one anytime soon, you may be wondering:

How do I get more clients?

Well, that’s exactly what we’ll be looking at in this blog. We’ll go over 5 techniques to promote your business and grow your client base.

1. Promo codes:

Promo codes are one of the most popular strategies to get more clients and most importantly, retain them. So how can you use them?

  • For new clients give them a discount on their first plan so it’s easier for them to convert
  • Special promotions on holidays. You can create discounts that last only for a specific holiday, that way people will feel the urge to take advantage of the deal
  • You can also use them as a gift for loyal customers that have been subscribed for a long time. This will make them happy and motivate them to keep supporting you

2. Referrals:

This is the perfect opportunity to reach more people and the best way to do it. Your clients are your best advertisement, they know you and how good your service is. Not only that, but people will be more likely to try something new if it’s recommended by someone they know.
Word of mouth is your best friend.

How can you get people to recommend you? If you already have a good service that your clients like, there’s a chance they will do it on their own, but you can also boost this by offering a referral program.

But how do you create a referral program?
You have plenty of options! You can decide which works best for you based on your clients. Some ideas you can use are:

  • Give a promo code to both the person who is referring and the people they bring so everyone has something to win
  • Offer a free 1 on 1 session to the clients that bring somebody new
  • Manage referrals in an Excel File (there are other automated options, but they are pricey)

You can still take this to the next level with challenges! That’s right, you can create a challenge to see who loses more weight during a specific time between your clients and the people they bring in.

With a challenge your clients will want to invite their friends and will be motivated to work hard on their goals while you get potential new clients, everybody wins! The winners can get one of the previous rewards we talked about like a promo code for a free month, a free 1 on 1 session, etc.

You can even turn these challenges into a recurrent series, like every 1 or 2 months, so new people never stop coming!

3. Free trials:

Free trials have proven to help clients who are doubtful about committing to a membership to make the decision. It gives them a sense of security and the opportunity to test if it’s the right thing for them.

How long should a free trial be? It depends on the duration of your plan, for monthly subscription 3 or 5 days may be enough while longer memberships (3-6 months and yearly subscriptions) can benefit more from a longer trial period like 7 to 14 days.

4. Free classes on specific occasions:

Free classes, similar to free trials, will help people experience your services without having any type of commitment, and once they do they will be a lot more motivated to buy your services. Free classes can be offered strategically during holidays. Just make sure to advertise it on social media.

5. Free on demand content:

You can either post a complete video, like the ones you usually do and make it available for free, or you can create a teaser of the long video,to give your leads the chance to see what they can get by buying your content.

We also recommend you to update the video(s) or add a couple more from time to time so new clients/leads can always get a quick peek at what you have to offer.

We’re sure this will help you take your business to the next level! Stay tuned for future tips in the near future.
